IT’S NOVEMBER.

November means Thanksgiving, a whole lotta football, but most importantly, MOVIES. We are now one month closer to the Oscar, which means movies are slowly starting those Oscar campaigns. November brings a mix of feel good holidays movies, along with some major franchise hits. Check out what’s good this coming month.

TRUMBO

Trumbo tells the true story of what happens when you simply speak up. Bryan Cranston plays Dalton Trumbo, a top Hollywood screenwriter during the 1950’s, but also during the Red Scare and Anti-Communist Era. Trumbo, along with many other top Hollywood executives were jailed and blacklisted simply because of their beliefs. Trumbo, follows the story of the aftermath of the jailing, and the trials and tribulations he faced  when returning to his carear. Cranston is joined on the big screen by John Goodman, Louis C. K., Helen Miren, and Diane Lane. Trumbo hits theaters November 6.

BROOKLYN

Brooklyn tells the tale of new beginnings. Meet Eilis Lacey, a young Irish immigrant who finds herself in Brooklyn during the 1950’s. Eilis is quickly swept off of her feet in her new life in Brooklyn and quickly develops a very lovely romance. However, her past decides to catch up with her and she must choose between her new life and her old one. Check out Brooklyn in theaters on November 6.

SPOTLIGHT

Get ready for the drama, enter Spotlight. Spotlight tells the true story of the 2003 Boston Globe investigation of the child molestation and sex abuse scandal in the Catholic church. The investigation sure shuck up the Catholic church and it looks like the movie is here to tell the story on the big screen. Spotlight has a huge ensemble cast joined by the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, and Liev Schreiber. See Spotlight in theaters on November 6.

THE 33

Based on true events, The 33 shares the stories of the 33 Chilean who were trapped underground for 69 days. Antonio Banderas plays Mario Sepulveda, the leader of the minors. While trapped Sepulveda took charge of their food, behavior, and overall standard of life. See if the minor get rescued on November 13.

CAROL

Looks like Cate Blanchett is looking for that next Oscar. Her newest project Carol, tells the unlikely love story between herself and Therese Belivet, (Rooney Mara), a younger department story clerk in New York City. During a rocky divorce, Therese and Carol’s relationship grows, first as friends and later as lovers. Carol has already picked up a number of awards including the Palme d’Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Rooney also tied for the Best Actress award there. See Carol in theaters on November 20.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

What would the holiday season be without the raunchy feel good comedy? Enter The Night Before. The Night Before tells the story of three life long friends, Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Issac (Seth Rogen), and Chris (Anthony Mackie), who reunite the night before Christmas Eve for one last celebration. Due to life getting in the way with careers and family, this might be the last chance the guys have for a “last night out.” Check it out in theaters on November 20.

MOCKINGJAY PART 2

Finally, the end is near. Katniss is back and on her way to complete a final mission. Mockingjay Part 2 picks up just where Mockingjay Part 1 left off. After rescuing a deranged Peeta, Katniss has one thing on her mind: revenge! Katniss finally puts all her efforts into the role of the Mockingjay to put an end to this war. See what will happen to the fate of Panem on November 20 .

THE DANISH GIRL

Can Eddie Redmayne pull of a repeat? He is sure hoping to with his ground-breaking role in The Danish Girl. The Danish Girl tells the unusual love story of Gerda (Alicia Vikander) and Elbe Wegener (Redmayne). Gerda, an artist, asks Elbe to sit in one day as a female model. Soon the popularity of the painting rises and Elbe starts to develop a life living as Lili, the female model. The film goes on to tell the tale of their love story and Lili’s life a transgender woman. Get those awards ready, Vikander and Redmayne will be everywhere this awards season! See The Danish Girl in theaters on November 27.
