Oscar Predictions 2016: Who Will Win, Who Could Win, and Who Should Win

 

This award season, the race couldn’t be more complicated.

While a few of the categories seem pretty easy to predict (sixth times a charm, right Leo!?), Best Picture is still very up in the air. Right now, its basically a three-way race between Spotlight, The Revenant, and The Big Short. Each film has a major guild win (Spotlight with a SAG, The Revenant with a DGA, and The Big Short with a PGA), so it’s a pretty tight competition.  Continue reading

Alan Turing was the man responsible for one of the first computers. Turing unfortunately was not granted the fame and recognition he deserved. His amazing discoveries and mechanical advances were kept as part of a top secret mission during World War II. His story is shared in the film, The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumberbatch and Kiera Knightly star in this World War II biopic doing a wonderful job to capture the over-emotional and high strung situations in The Imitation Game.

Whiplash: Passion Turned Perfection

Expect to hear the name Whiplash and Miles Teller A LOT in the next few months. Teller takes on an intense role for Whiplash, a film telling the story of a passionate drummer and his mentor. Teller had a memorable performance and broke out of his shell and shedding the image of the typical twenty-something guy he normally plays on-screen.

Miles Teller can be described as one of the most candid actors in Hollywood.
